Viva Naturals specializes in organic health foods and vitamins -- psyllium husk powder, coconut flour, krill oil -- that are as trendy as they are healthy. (You won't find a single GMO in their product line, thank you.) So it's no shock that they're diving nose first into aromatherapy, with a lineup of electronic devices that dispense essential oils (i.e., aromatic oils distilled from the essence of plants) into the air that you breathe and smell. The Viva Naturals Tranquil looks enough like an attractive vase that you could place it on a shelf next to actual plants so that your guests will have no idea that those pleasant odors are coming from anything other than an unusually aromatic bouquet of flowers.
The Tranquil uses ultrasound to vaporize small quantities of essential oils that scour toxins out of the air, fight mold and generally make things smell better. And, though these claims haven't been scientifically proven, these essential odors are supposed to improve your mood, focus your thoughts and brighten up boring, depressing days. Even if you don't believe in the powers of essential oils, you'll probably find that they smell better than the lingering residue of the previous evening's garlic-infused dinner. (Garlic may taste great, but it probably doesn't produce essential oils.) Viva Naturals claims that the Tranquil operates with very little noise, so it won't interfere with your television viewing or your sleep.
And if aromatherapy isn't enough to lighten your mood, the Tranquil produces a warm, colorful, LED glow in darkened rooms. You can choose from moonlight white, firefly green, aquamarine teal, galaxy purple, sunset red, mellow yellow and mystic blue. Or, like the playlist of songs on your smart phone, you can put it in shuffle mode and get a random spectrum of changing colors for the full psychedelic experience (black light not included). Once the essential oils have wafted into the air, the Tranquil will shut itself off automatically.
To compare the Tranquil with similar aromatherapy devices, look at the Emoi H0027 Diffuser Lamp Speaker, which adds music to the mix; the Miro CleanPot, which you can put in the dishwasher to chase germs away; or the Homedics Ellia Awaken.
It gives a nice scent to our back room where the dogs generally stay, and even leaves a nice scent throughout most of the house.
This diffuser is easy to use and puts out an amazing amount of cold steam with the scented oil of your choice! I loved that it had a variable timer on it.
I've been using this diffuser every night for over a month and I'm so impressed with it! It puts out a great amount of mist and the scent of the oils that fills the bedroom.
