Editorial Review

The world of robot mops, sweepers, and dusters is full of expensive, gadget-riddled smart bots that, while offering fairly effective, hands-off alternatives to manually mopping, are a bit too costly to make the justification to automate something which you probably do less than you should, anyway (because if you mopped consistently before you'd have gotten one of these a long time ago and saved yourself). Enter the Vileda Virobi, a robot vacuum/dry mop hybrid that brings the price of hands-off clean floor to under $50. While this is a product that will help around the house free of charge and amuse your pets if any exist, there are certainly trade-offs that come with a product of this price.

The Virobi struggles mightily where you'd expect it to: it has no sensors preventing its fall off a staircase, no laser scanning system to build 3D maps of your living space for future invasion and ongoing cleanliness. The Virobi is, quite simply, a freely moving circular object with an electrostatic cloth appended to its underside. This actually makes it quite effective at all these things are really supposed to do in the first place: pick up dust, dirt, hair, and dander. The external cloth system makes disposal incredibly easy, and while the two hour run time is not incredible, its more than enough for the small apartment that this product is best suited for anyhow.

The Vileda Virobi is an incredible bargain and an ingenious product. In an age when technology is almost reflexively overly glamorized and costly, the presence of ingenuity and thrift in the marketplace is a breath of fresh air. If you find this is not the breath of fresh air you were looking for, here is a fancy robot wet mop.

It's sturdy and well built. I love that the rim is flexible so it can actually get right into the corners to collect dust bunnies and the like. Nifty little gadget.

I use it daily and I am satisfied. Collect hair and dust. It's a great addition to the vacuum cleaner and save my job. I can recommend to everyone.

Only collects dust and hair. Can not cope with smaller crumbs and sand. It does not replace 100% of the vacuum cleaner. I do not recommend.

It is not a hoover but it does the same job! It helps me a lot and the house looks clean all the time. I am glad I have bought this.

Does what he is supposed to do, and he is still soft. Collect cat hair and flush wonderfully. Great!

It's a little noisy... It stops even if it arrives on the doorstep and do not know where to go, otherwise takes the hair and dust. So I would not recommend it.

I'm very satisfied, comes into corners and under the bed. You put him down and he does his job. I'm very happy with it anyway. Does what he must do.

Not worth the money. Not covering 100% area. Good to pick dust, does not pick slightly bigger size dirt. Anti static mop cloth is not reusable. Don't go for it.

Overall, this product is great value for money. I am able to just put it on my floor and go and do other things. Does exactly what I wanted.

I gave this Virobi to my mother-in-law for Christmas, she was very happy. It is really very helpful and easy to use. I recommend it for those with little time in cleaning.
