Electric scooters are the 21st century transportation option for those fearless travelers seeking fast, light, zero-emissions vehicles without the inherent risks of bicycles and the pain of traffic congestion. Or even the balance demanded by skateboards. As a result, there are many companies and brands which offer a wide range of pricing and cater to a broad scoot demographic. Some clearly target younger riders, like the Dynacraft Monster High 24V, designed for the female scooter aficionado or its masculine counterpart, the Dynacraft Hot Wheels 24V, both electric push scooters of dubious virtue.
Puzey Design has been in the Personal Transport Vehicle, or PTV, industry for almost 20 years, designing, manufacturing and distributing such brands as EVO Powerboards and Uber Scoot. Uber Scoot represents the latest line of PTVs from Puzey and is epitomized by the 800W Citi. The Uber Scoot 800W Citi is their 4th generation electric folding scooter that can be ridden seated or standing.
The Citi features front and rear splash guards over large, inflatable, cross-tread mega-traction tires with ventilated disc brakes. It has water-resistant digital controller electronics and front and rear LED lights for enhanced visibility. One-touch battery exchange or upgrade ability is useful, and quick-release seat installation/removal makes the transition a snap. The Citi incorporates a one-touch lever for easy folding and a handlebar design which allows multiple position settings. It runs on an 800-watt brushless hub motor which provides speeds up to 25 mph and up to 10 miles on a 4- to 6-hour charge. The Citi has a chain/hub transmission and starts via key switch. Bumpy roads are handled by Cam link front suspension and dual shock rear suspension. This scooter is a bit hefty with its welded twin tube steel frame, weighing approximately 74 lbs., though its weight capacity is about 250 lbs. The seat height is adjustable and a luggage carrier is standard. Recommended for ages 12 and up, this 2-wheeler is street legal in certain regions in the UK, but users should definitely first check legal status for the US.
I've used the scooter in an urban area for over 6 months and been very satisfied with the performance. An excellent little scooter for short trips.
Don't buy this scooter or you'll wind up with a very expensive door stop. I found out it needed a fuse when it just died on me one day.
I've only had this scooter for about 4 days but I love it. It's so powerful. It's fast, durable, reliable and sweet looking. I would recommend this scooter to anyone.
It's got surprisingly good acceleration and speed, and the range seems to be as indicated. Overall we've been happy with it. Good little scooter.
The ring that is suppose to secure the seat is way too small... Kind of disappointing! I am a machine repairman by trade so I do know the difference.
