Editorial Review

Life is full of little dilemmas. You're showered, fresh and ready to take on the world when you suddenly feel that familiar pressure in your lower intestines. There goes that clean and ready-to-go feeling. Do you take care of it then shower all over again, take a sponge bath instead, or just give up on feeling daisy fresh for the rest of the day? Toto Ltd. has been solving this dilemma since 1980 with their line of washlets, automated toilet seats that do for regular bathrooms what dedicated bidets have been doing for French bathrooms since the late 17th century. They provide a quick shower just where you need it, so you don't have to strip down and get your hair wet again. And the advantage of having a bidet seat right on your toilet is that you don't even have to stand up first to use it.

The Toto S350E uses tankless heated water to keep your backside warm, premist the bowl with electrolyzed eWater to make the surface less sticky and to periodically wash the bowl when you aren't using it. Toto also advertises it as the world's thinnest add-on seat, so your toilet won't suddenly seem like a mini-Everest when you go to sit on it. It also illuminates the bowl, so that men making a quick bathroom rush in the dark of night won't miss the target and incur the wrath of other family members. The rectangular remote control can be operated with one hand and has two presets for the specific functions needed by different sets of users, most likely the female members of your family and the male members. The seat will sense your presence and open automatically before you assume the position. It doesn't dry you off when it finishes washing, but presumably you'll be clean enough by then that the amount of toilet paper needed is minimal.

Competing products include the Novita BH90-EW and the Geberit Aquaclean 4000, though Toto would be happy to sell you a complete bidet toilet like the Toto Washlet G500.

Very nice product. My only complaint is the drying cycle takes a long time. If fan were stronger it would be perfect.

The seat installs easily. It does not clean adequately. It does not dry sufficiently. And after 8 months of use the seat lid only lifts partially...seat heater is nice.

Cleans and dries well. Multifunction allow customization and programmability. This is the best bidet seat I have owned.

They are very attractive...Wands work as advertised and the functionality is as expected. Love the remote, which is wall mounted in our installation.

The force of the cleansing water stream is very weak, the controls are awkward and hard to read, the control unit must be handled to achieve elegant control.

Be sure to look at spec sheet as you will need a GFCI fault near toilet which I arranged to be put in with electrician. This is a great addition to our master bathroom.

Works as well as the much higher priced integrated units. Installation was simple and the operating manual has clear descriptions of all functions.
