Editorial Review

Some users have complained that the Maytronics Dolphin Supreme M5, while cleaning your pool, also does a pretty good job of stirring up the dirt that's already in it. That's because it's filtration system isn't designed to catch particles smaller than 50 microns. You'll need a filter system already installed in your pool to catch the finer stuff. But that's not what robotic pool cleaners are about. They're designed to catch the larger junk, the leaves that have fallen in the water and the algae that's growing on the bottom. So don't expect it to do your filtering for you.

That said, the M5 has triple rollers on the bottom for scraping up that crud, something that your built-in filtration system is never going to see. It has an electric cable with a swivel on it to keep it from getting tangled, which is essential when you're dealing with a cable this long. It will swipe the muck off the pool bottom, swivel when it reaches the end of its path, then head off in a different direction, even climbing up the walls of the pool when necessary, right up past the waterline. And it does do a certain amount of filtration. Just don't expect it to take care of the tiniest particles.

The M5's internal software is intelligent enough to work out a pattern that will clean the bottom and walls of the pool without working the same area twice, so it can get the job done in a minimum of time. And it can handle various shapes of pool, not just rectangular ones. It pulls back out of the pool easily when done, with a little tugging on the cord. The handle on top lets you lift it back over the water line and put it back in storage when you're ready.

For some other pool cleaners, check out Maytronics' Dolphin DX3, the Aquabot Fury and the Pentair Kreepy Krauly Prowler 830.

Had the Dolphin Supreme M5 Robot Cleaner for a month now and the pool (concrete in-ground with white marble sheen) has never looked better.

Don't waste your money, absolutely shocking product, I feel ripped off, bad value, no after sales support, worst thing we have ever bought, come and see how bad this thing is.

This product was great for the first two weeks, and then the power supply died.

Two sets came with my M5. The ultra fine filter works great, the spring leaf filter not so much...

Just had a M5 demo and was quite impressed. Seems to be a very powerful unit, scooting quickly across the pool.

I'm on my second season with my Maytronics M5 and it has made my pool experience very enjoyable. It does require the owner to be responsible and sensible.
