Editorial Review

Out of the box, the Maytronics Dolphin DX6 has knobbier scrubbers than it sibling robotic pool cleaner, the Maytronics Dolphin DX4, with bigger, beefier goal-posts for extra points. It is good for pools up to 50 feet in length and has a patented swivel-cable that keeps its power cord from become tangled. It works the walls and bottoms, scrubbing away up to the waterline with a weekly timer and also remotely with 3 cleaning cycles of 2, 3 or 4 hours. Like its predecessor, it is designed for in-ground pools, and with dual drive motors and split brushes, is able to get in the tight spots and provide an exceptional cleaning. It even programs itself by scanning the pool to optimize cleaning efficiency. The DX6 has a Fine Porosity Filter Bag to capture all the granules of displeasure and even alerts the pool-cleaner cleaner when it is all filled up.

The pool care bot is on a roll. Ever since achieving a level of autonomy, it has battled the suction hose leviathan into tangled submission. Owing to its new-found primacy, future generations will never again have to stumble around ridiculous and obtrusive lengths of flex hose in the ongoing struggle against pool blight. The automated pool bot jumps right in and deals with the issues, trailing nothing more than an insulated a/c cord as it works, ultimately to weather the waves of home owner gratitude and rampant pool-cleaner unemployment.

As with so many others, the pool-bot manufacturer is not only competing with the other makers of fundamentally the same product, but with their earlier, still extant lines. The Aquabot Supreme battles the Aquabot Turbo T2 while the Dolphin DX6 has to compete directly with its immediate family member, the Maytronics Dolphin DX4. Who could have predicted that the pool bottom would be where this submarine sibling rivalry would find contest?

I love the fact that it has a remote control, and full bag signal. The cord doesn't get all twisted up, as they have installed a swivel.

I bought this cleaner a month ago, and it is a life saver. It has several different setting, and timers. I have not had to manually clean the pool since!

It cleans the bottom of the pool better than hand vacuuming. Does not clean steps very well and does OK on the sides but over all I could not be happier.

I ran the dx6 two times when I got it and my pool never looked more inviting. Love it. Cart was missing a couple screws, but made do with stuff from my garage.
