Editorial Review

When it comes to our robotic servants, ease of use is the key. Nobody wants a bot for light housework that requires an advanced engineering degree to make it work. It’s easier to just get the kids to do it. Well, easier to hire someone else to do it. The hardest part of domestic bot use should be figuring out which one to get. And with the expanding array of available options, for the most part, it is. Yardbots and robovacs are pretty easy from an operational perspective -- push a couple of buttons, charge them up and you’re good to go. Poolbots are really easy -- plug them in and drop them in the drink. But what could be easier than kicking off your shoes and having a seat?

Massage chairs shift ease into high gear because in order to make them work, the user must be recumbent in a big, comfy seat. Even if the controls prove too elusive, reclining is not a position that warrants too much discomfort. These chairs operate with systems of rollers and airbags which, when combined, are engineered to replicate the human touch. Some, like the Human Touch HT-7450, even call themselves that. Some of them are big in size and investment. The Fujiiryoki EC-3800 is a serviceable example.

Texas-based Luraco, which provides research, technology, and products for military and commercial applications, offers the 6SL, the first massage chair made in the USA. Precursor to the Luraco iRobotics 7, the 6SL brings much to the chair. One-touch Zero Gravity relieves spinal pressure while bringing the head and feet to the level of the heart. The patented massage rollers travel 30 inches, reaching from the upper shoulders to the tail bone. Using adjustable quad-style rollers, the 6SL is better able to replicate the sensation of the human hand, especially with 3D movements such as side-to-side, up-and-down, and in-and-out. The 6SL has 104 airbags to provide a comprehensive compression massage. For the maximum massage experience, the 6SL comes with 6 automatic programs to soothe your tired muscles, and it offers customizable settings as well.

Many of my friends have used during their visits to my home and every one enjoyed it. The massage is intense, and I like the intensity control. Very happy with the purchase.

We use it every day. It's worth every penny we spent! The massage features are perfect. My wife uses the lowest intensity, but I always use highest intensity.
