Remember that time when you were eight years old and your great aunt Millicent gave you a beautifully wrapped birthday present and when you took off the wrapping it turned out to be...an electric toothbrush? You don't? No matter. Someplace in the world there are kids who have gotten electric toothbrushes as birthday presents. And it's fair to say that their reaction wasn't to jump up and down with delight. More likely they began to plot sweet revenge so that the gift-giver would fully understand that their request for a brand new PlayStation was in no way meant frivolously.
Unless they got a Kolibree Bluetooth Smart Electric Toothbrush, which quite frankly is the PlayStation of toothbrushes. It turns tooth-brushing into a game -- literally. The Kolibree is Bluetooth enabled and comes with a smartphone app that can monitor the Kolibree's brushing activity, recording how long the user (or the user's kids) spends brushing and letting them (or their parents) know whether their technique is up to snuff. But the part that kids, and more than a few grownups, are going to love is that the Kolibree app also includes a game that, in effect, uses the toothbrush as a game controller, forcing the user to move the brush to relevant parts of the mouth in order score points.
A brand-new Kolibree costs about five times as much as a Philips Sonicare Essence (and an order of magnitude more than the low-end Colgate 360 Optic White). But to parents trying to find a way to get their kids to brush regularly, it may be worth its weight in the precious metals that would otherwise be used to fill the cavities that appear in their teeth.
While you’re brushing, you can use the mobile app to run a game, like an endless runner with a pirate theme...The feedback works via Bluetooth in real time.
The Kolibree toothbrush has an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a magnetometer inside, which it uses to record how long you brush your teeth for, and how you brush them.
Its awesome...The unit has sensors such as accelerometers that allows it to keep track of where it is in the mouth.
Slim, easy to hold, and fun...The app is really cool. It teaches kids how to brush and has 3D motion sensors to teach how to brush at an optimum level.
Vibrated in the right way and did help with cleaning my teeth...products from Oral-B in the same price bracket, they have a lot more cleaning features and movement.
The toothbrush connects to Android and iOS devices over Bluetooth, and the accompanying apps can support multiple users.
