Editorial Review

The Kohler C3-230 robotic toilet seat is near the top of the price range as such units go, but it's chock-full of features from a company that's been down the automated bidet route before, so it's worth taking a look at. The seat is heated, with five different temperature selections, so you can adjust it according to season and your preferred indoor thermostat settings. The cleansing water from its moveable internal wand is also heated, so it won't freeze your privates while the seat is heating up your buttocks. Like every other bidet seat in the personal hygiene market, it has both anterior and posterior -- just call that front and rear -- washing, activated by the control panel on the right side. The water can be tuned for an oscillating, pulsating massage, if that's what you're in the mood for. And it will dry you off with warm air when you're ready to join the world outside the bathroom again. Depending on how hectic the rest of your household is, you may just be tempted to linger here and read a book in heated comfort whether you've finished what you came for or not.

The Kohler has a deodorizing function so the facilities will be suitable for others to use when you're gone. There's also a UV cleaner on the wand itself, to keep it germ-free so that you won't pass on cholera, dysentery or any other undesirable intestinal bacteria to the next user -- and they won't pass any on to you. If you don't want to use the side panel, there's a battery-powered, touch-screen remote control that will handle all of the seat's functions, so you won't have to be sitting down when you flush. You can install the seat yourself, though you'll have to hook it up to both your water and electrical supplies.

For similar seats from Kohler's competition, look at the Smartbidet SB-2000, the Biobidet USPA 6800 or the C200 from Toto, the company that invented this type of seat in the first place.

The blue light and warm seat is a very comforting first impression. The cleansing wash is an absolute refresher any time of the day.

I love that the seat has a blue light...has many options for water pressure, position and even temperature! Plus, I can warm the seat.

Installation was pretty simple...remote control looks very nice, but the wall mount mechanism seems very loose...parts look and feel of good quality, so I hope this lasts.

High-quality construction and well designed. Very comfortable seat...it’s warm by the time you sit on it, it senses when you’re approaching.

The toilet seat was very easy to install...has a deodorizer fan that comes on when you sit down...Works great and cleans well. Helps prevent irritation from over-wiping.

The remote was loosely attached and fell the second time I used it...Would have given it a 5 star if the remote had been more secure on it's holder.

Includes a wireless remote for tweaking all the power and temperature settings, as well as programming a set of soft glowing LEDs...uses UV light for daily sanitation.
