For those with a hefty pile of disposable income: meet the Jura Giga 5. The machine with two grinders and two heating systems can pour two different premium beverages into two different mugs at one time — precisely double the output of Jura's less expensive single serve machine. If you can swing the cost (over $5K at the time of this writing), you will get an undeniably luxurious home caffeine delivery system — truly the gift that keeps on giving.
Across the board, from standpoints technological and aesthetic alike, the Giga 5 is nothing short of astounding. Twelve different "coffee creations" are available for brewing — allowing you to "become a professional barista in a flash." An elegant electronic ventilation system keeps the machine from exploding from the demands of producing two super-heated steamy beverages simultaneously. It all adds up to a product that you'll be hard-pressed to find a disappointed customer of — though we don't rule out the ability of the purchaser to rationalize away any disappointment in order to cope with the magnitude of the purchase they chose to make.
In all seriousness, positive reviews abound for the pricey Giga 5, heaping such praise upon it as "flawless performance", "it couldn't be easier", and "I would take a second mortgage to buy it rather than not have it!" Dramatic overstatements? Perhaps. But one thing is certain — there are few joys greater than the smell of java brewing in the early hours.
The unit does not warn early enough and may abort the brewing half-way if you're brewing a big cup
We absolutely love this machine! It almost feels like coffee snob, and enjoying our coffee at home is better than at the coffee shops!
I bought this machine back in April 2013. I've used it almost daily now for over one year.
The coffee it produced was strong to some, but the machine quickly replaced the three other options here at Digital Trends as the office darling.
I could not imagine my mornings without this machine. It's amazing!
