Editorial Review

Pop is an unusual name for a robotic vacuum cleaner and the iClebo Pop probably gets that name from the modernistic pop-art design on its lid. As robovacs go, it's certainly flashy. But does it work well? It uses space-analyzing algorithms to calculate the most efficient way to clean a room, saving on time and energy. That's a pretty good feature in a bot with a cost that isn't terribly high by robovac standards. It comes with an infrared remote that you can use to choose between path-finding algorithms, depending on the needs of your living area. You can schedule cleaning sessions in advance and it will do mopping as well as vacuuming. So far, so good.

It's designed to climb from hardwood floors to carpets, so it won't find itself snagged in a complicated floor design scheme. iClebo says that, in addition to being powerful, the Pop is quiet, thus belying one possible meaning of its name. (Nobody wants a vacuum cleaner that actually pops.) How do users feel about it? The reviews on Amazon are spread all across the quality range, from those who love it to an almost equal number of people who hate it, with plenty of reviews falling in between. Even those who are less than enthusiastic about it admit that it's a good deal for the price, so if you're shopping for a bargain as much as for a superpowered robovac, this model may fall right into your range. Of course, there are also users who received units that failed within six months of buying, so caveat emptor.

While you're shopping for robotic vacuum cleaners, be sure to look at some of the competing models on the market before making a decision to buy. Some units to look at include the Dyson 360 Eye, the iTouchless Intelligent Pro and the iRobot Roomba 655. Keep in mind that this unit can't possibly be as bad as the Techko Maid RV312, but it also costs several times as much.

I can recommend the iClebo POP to anyone and everyone, and even at the same price as a roomba or neato I think it deserves a lot of consideration.

There seems to be some bug in the software where over time it slowly forgets how to do basic things...if you have any issues like this simply...reset it.

I think this vacuum does an acceptable, but not a great job.The wet mop cleaning is useless...For me who only vacuumed once a week this machine does a better job.

When we placed it on the carpet, it moved forward and back and around about 3 inches at a time. It would not move in a continuous line even though it was totally unobstructed.
