The iJoy 2.0 from Human Touch doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles and isn't anywhere close to state-of-the-massage-chair-art. But it's also available for a fraction of the price you'd have to pay for one of those cutting-edge, zero-gravity, bouncing loungers, so if your massage demands are small or you just want to have something soothing in the den until you save up the money for a chair that will impress the hell out of visiting neighbors, the iJoy 2.0 might just be perfect for you. You know a massage chair isn't going to knead the sides of your ankles or play music out of an MP3 player in its headrest when one of the major features advertised by the manufacturer is how little space it will take up in your home, but the iJoy has a couple of tricks up its sleeve -- or, more accurately, up your back and neck.
Once you've used it to put the chair in a reclined position, the remote control can request the iJoy to perform one of three types of massage. The Think massage, which is presumably for those moments when you're trying to come up with a great idea for your next job interview/bestselling novel/product pitch, treats the entire length of your back. The Perform massage works on your neck and shoulders. And the Rejuvenate massage pokes its way around your lower back. The iJoy uses three massage techniques to work its therapeutic wonders: Stretch, which makes small rotating motions on both sides of your spine simultaneously; Orbit, which makes longer side to side motions in both places; and Glide, which rolls up and down near your spine instead of side to side. Seriously, that's the extent of its bag of tricks. But that may be just what you want.
About that size: The chair is small and it's probably not going to be the right fit if your height comes anywhere close to six feet. If you need more, both in terms of size and variety of massage features, you're going to have to look farther up the price scale. Some places where you might begin looking are the much pricier Kahuna LM6800 or the inexpensive Brookstone ReAct.
Absolutely love this chair. Very easy to use and feels amazing, especially after tough workouts. I didn't want to get up!
Bought this for my husband who has a bad back. He loves it. Says it makes his back feel much better... Easy to assemble. Great price for a massage chair!
What a great chair! Very comfortable, easy to use. This chair eases my back and neck pain so perfectly. I wish I had gotten it sooner!
I really feel that it should be called a deep massage chair! I can't get over how it works out, it hurts at first until you get used to it because it gets into the muscles.
This chair is definitely not made for anyone over 5'7. The massage is ok but after a minute the balls start to hurt your back more than massage. I will be returning.
Wonderful chair recommend it to everyone! Wonderful massage chair with easy to use controller. Lets you get relief on target areas, or your whole back. I love this chair!
This chair is very small, almost child size, hard to get up out of, has no elevated foot rest at all. I would definitely not recommend this for any physical disabilities.
I use it almost daily. It feels great, it is easy to operate, and really gets in there. I was actually not expecting it to hit some of the muscles in my back that it does.
Very comfortable and effective chair that gives my friend, many hours of relaxation. I had one myself 8 years ago and it is still working so well. Very enjoyable!
