Editorial Review

In the realm of automated massage chairs – somehow "electric" and "chair" don’t evoke images of great comfort when applied in conjunction – the form can define the limitations of function. Some are huge and puffy and quite heavy, offering a comprehensive application of mechanical massage techniques. Others of not so lofty ambition provide less where you sit for a lower outlay. Many tout Zero-G as a feature of particular appeal even though it looks to be pretty much just lying down on your butt. Through the use of rollers and airbags with heating and vibration and even music, massage chairs serve the kneads of many.

While some come up short, like the Human Touch WholeBody HT-5040, which misses the feet completely, others engulf you from head to toe. The Infinity Escape boasts a 47-inch L-roller which runs from the neck to the glutes along with foot rollers and airbags to boot. The Inada Yu-Me even rocks, cradling you in its loving, massaging embrace.

The Human Touch iJoy-2580 doesn’t so much cradle you as bounce you on its lap. It sits directly on the floor, providing no leg action whatsoever in all its balloonish insouciance. “Rub your own legs!” it seems to taunt, all smug and leathery there. Unlike many of its higher profile comrades, it isn’t a back-breaker to move, weighing only 88 lbs. To make massage chair adjustments even more efficacious, the iJoy-2580 has wheels to optimize relocation without causing contradictory back pain. The iJoy-2580 has 3 auto massage presets utilizing rolling, kneading, compression and percussion techniques to provide the most complete massage to a specific area as possible. It even has on-board power outlets for laptops, phones, tablets and other devices, and a cup holder for a nice beverage massage as well.

Nice chair, but way too low. Hard to get up from the chair. I could use some neck and shoulder massage but the chair does not do a good job on my shoulder.

My lower back was feeling stiff so I ran through a lower back program. It really loosens it up feels great! It feels great, does the job, and is built to last.

This chair is heaven. It has many modes, highly configurable and just love this chair. Very happy with it. It does sit a bit low to the floor but not a big deal for me.

Everyone wants to sit in this chair! Do your homework and know what you might need. It helped that we had used them at the chiropractor. We are very very pleased.

I use this chair about 30 minutes a day and it makes me feel great! My only small complaint, it doesn't rub my neck as firmly as I would like without me re-positioning myself.

Very good investment to make at this price. My whole body feels less stressed after using the chair for only 20 minutes. I do to unwind in the evenings.

Great for the money. Does everything you want it to. The only thing i really do not like is that it does not really massage the upper neck area. I'm 6'2" tall.

I've had the chair for approx 3 weeks now and I use it everyday. It is well worth the price only downfall, it doesn't massage your legs.
