Editorial Review

Eachine, known largely for their top tier and fairly priced racing quads, has shown the same eye for value and quality with their FPV headsets as they did initially with their drones. Drone companies releasing their own headsets is nothing new or strange—DJI, among others, has done the same—but Eachine has delivered a solid product with a couple clever features at a mere fraction of the price of most of the big name competitors.

The Eachine EV800 looks normal enough, with its unadorned, matte black finish, complete with adjustable strap. There's an auto-search function, which scans for your drone upon activation, and the battery life is good for three and a half hours, far more than any FPV drone this side of the military is likely to last in the air. The goggles are a bit heavier than average, and so may become uncomfortable after extended use, a problem only more compounded by the relative lack of cushioning. Poor weight distribution is a problem somewhat endemic to the FPV headset world, so this relative discomfort, in conjunction with the highly discounted prices, perhaps should not come as a surprise. The most innovative feature boasted of by the EV800? The front can be easily attached, and, using the threaded inlet found at the bottom of the display, can be stuck up on a tripod and converted into your very own FPV station.

As mentioned previously, the EV800 is easily one of the least expensive products of its kind on the market. That, combined with the fact that it does a decent job at doing what it's supposed to (relaying a clear FPV feed, of course), makes this product a great value. However, some real luxury can be had at the higher ends of this marketplace, if that is what you're after. We recommend taking a look at the highly lauded Fat Shark brand if such an upgrade is what you seek.

The EV800 seamlessly found my receiver and began displaying the camera in less than 3 seconds. Displays a clear picture with no issues. It's light, comfortable and durable.

I do not feel weight on my head perfectly. The image is bright. The receiver sensitivity is good. The 25mV receiver accepts the signal even for buildings.

Perfect Goggles. I like the fact they do not have to be on my face when learning FPV.

Can't beat the price! These goggles are great for beginners,i f you do not like to wear it as goggles. They can also be used as a 5 inch monitor.
