In the deserts of the American Southwest, hot and dry are the two prominent options available to the residents there. At night, it has been known to become cold and dry as well. This is of course distinct from places like Florida which, being surrounded by ocean and teeming with swamps, is thus more like a walk-in humidor. While this is fine for cigars -- and people who look good in Speedos who might prefer their humidity relative -- others are less receptive to its myriad joys. But whereas a measured level of humidity provides some health benefits, many people find high levels of it in constancy oppressive and undesirable for habitational harmony and sartorial aridity.
There can be little doubt that low humidity poses demonstrable problems. The desaturation of the mucus membranes in the nose, mouth and throat can lead to respiratory issues or a lack thereof. Certain dry climes will effectively cook the moisture out of wood, adhesives, and paper, leading to warping and structural diminution. Low humidity increases incidents of static electricity and the resulting dilemmas. To combat such perfidies, humidifiers have risen to the challenge. They take many forms, from single room applications to full HVAC integration for industrial and office use. The PureGuardian H7550 is a good example of a medium sized room humidifier that is affordably priced.
For those who enjoy their humidity with considerably more style and don’t mind paying for it, the Dyson AM10 appears to warrant some esteem. Decidedly Sharper Image in look, it would fit in marvelously anywhere babies are plagued with the croup. Ultraviolet Cleanse technology terminates 99% of bacteria before the AM10 even begins playing misty. Something called the Patented Air Multiplier distributes the hydrated air with calm evenness throughout the targeted space. Intelligent Climate Control measures the room's temperature and humidity to provide the optimal environment for breathing easy. It even has a sleep timer and will do its particular magic for up to 18 hours continuously.
To date I would recommend. It is expensive but as others have said it is very quiet in operation and the design of the unit is first class. I would say give it a try.
I was very pleased with the design of this humidifier. It was smart, in terms of the engineering design.
I liked it so much that I bought another one for my bedroom, there is a humming sound but it actually makes me sleep better. The air is lovely and fresh when it is on.
Excellent unit, very quiet and functional. Works as advertised, easy to use but need to refill everyday.
This machine has enhanced my life. I sleep very well and I highly recommend this product.
Works great. Highly recommended for folks with breathing issues. Cleans air fast and makes sleeping easier in any room.
