The first thing that will strike you about the Anmer HoneyGuaridan A25 is that the name seems misspelled. Don't they mean "HoneyGuardian"? But no. This is what they've called this automated pet feeder and the name must mean something to them, if not to the buyer. Of course, anything named "HoneyGuardian" would sound like it's a hummingbird feeder and this is for cats and dogs. So pet owners who need some assistance in keeping their furry loved ones fed in spite of busy schedules and frequent trips out of town, pay attention.
The HoneyGuaridan is a large-hopper kibble feeder that at least has some sense of futuristic style, unlike most of the dozens of similar feeders on the market. As with other such gadgets, you dump a large quantity of dry pet food (in this case, up to 3.3 pounds) into the hopper and set it to dole out pre-programmed portions (from 1/32 of a cup to 4 cups for each meal) into the feeding tray at programmable intervals. It has a voice recorder and speaker so that you can "talk" to your pets every time they get fed, not that you'll be around to enjoy the experience. The sound of your voice should produce a Pavlovian reaction, though, drawing your pets to the freshly dispensed food if hunger doesn't do the job on its own. While just the sound of kibble spilling into a bowl is probably enough to produce the same Pavlovian reaction, this way you can feel like your pets will actually think that you're home when they hear your voice, but it's doubtful your clever friends will be fooled.
The control panel on the front of the unit has a clear LCD display and push button controls that probably aren't any more complicated than the ones on your alarm clock, which may or may not be a good thing. It uses D cell batteries that the manufacturer thinks will keep it running for six months without leaving your pet unfed. Reviews on Amazon are good, but you might also want to look at the smartphone-operated RolliTron RolliPet, the Animal Planet Programmable Electronic and the Pet Feedster Automated Feeder.
Over all, we're really happy with this automatic feeder. The motor isn't very loud and the whole thing has a pretty sturdy build. I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone...
The main reason I bought this feeder is that it's supposed to be pet proof but it's not. Very disappointing.
My cats hated it. The noise made the cats jump in the air. They refused to go near it even though there was no food anywhere else.
After two months of use, I am satisfied with this product. Unlike my former distributor, that is easier to use. I recommend this product...
It is as I imagined it. The description is perfect. The handling is easy and the quantities supplied correspond to the scheduled doses.
I am thrilled about how well the thing works and how fast my cat has accepted it. We can go away in peace during the daytime without any immediate starvation.
Disappointment! First of all the planning is too complicated, you have to do many tests before you understand how it works... Second is unreliable...
