According to that sage of movies and high fashion, Derek Zoolander, moisture is the essence of wetness. While not usually noted for deep thinking, as a really, really, ridiculously good-looking fictional person, he might be onto something. But not everyone wants to live in the tropics or the ocean, so humidifiers are the means by which many wetness-deprived individuals ensure that they don't turn into dried-out husks of their former selves. The PureGuardian H7550 is a sleek one, slightly resembling a futuristic version of the old timey rubber water bags. The Apalus HF001BK is shaped almost like a bowling ball bag, and is good for small rooms or alleys of up to 300-square feet.
On another hand, the Air Innovations MH-701b promises to sufficiently moisten any extra-large room. The 701b is a more slender version of the dual-tank Air Innovations MH-801B, which is more for average sized rooms with above average aridity. Both have a 15-inch removable extension nozzle and dual directional mist nozzles. The 701b has a 1.7-gallon tank capacity and uses ultrasonic technology. A permanent ceramic filter helps to get rid of hard water deposits and other impurities while antimicrobial protection prevents microbes from homesteading in the tank and base. There's a built-in Humidistat that monitors humidity settings and a programmable timer which allows the user to set the 701b to turn on or off in 1- to 24-hour increments.
There are 5 levels of adjustable mist output ranging from Low to Turbo as well as a digital LED. When the tank runs out of water, the Auto Safety shuts off the unit. There are handles on the top and bottom of the tank for easy refilling, and a remote control for speedy access. This model has a 96-hour run time, but unlike some other humidifiers, it dispenses cool mist only.
I have owned quite a few humidifiers and this one is hands down the best! Quiet, easy, and most importantly it works!
This works very well. I use it for my guitar room to keep the humidity level steady for the wood. The humidistat is a good function. Lasts for days!
I love the humidifier, it's sleek design really blends in with my living room. I would recommend it to my friends. Remote control is very easy!
My suggestion is to have some way to fill it from the top and not have to flip a 15 pound tank over to line up the fittings and get it on the base.
